Governor Koster Called Bali Ready to Help Develop the Tourism Potential of Bumi Gora

BALITOURISMTIMES.com, DENPASAR – Bali Governor Wayan Koster stated that Bali with open arms will help develop various potentials in the tourism sector owned by the Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) which is nicknamed Bumi Gogo Rancah (Gora).

This was revealed when Governor Koster received the NTB Governor’s visit at the Jaya Sabha Office, Denpasar on Saturday night.

“For example, to raise more local wisdoms,” he said.

He then shared his experiences on how to encourage the rise of the local wisdom-based handicraft industry. For example, through a policy with the issuance of Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 79 of 2018 concerning the Day for Use of Balinese Traditional Clothing.

“This Pergub is proven to bring local Balinese handicrafts to life. Industry, traders, and fashion are growing. We must turn on MSMEs because they are proven to be more resilient, even in times like this,” he explained.

On the other hand, he also explained that one of the objectives of the Padang Bai Port development plan which is the priority of the Bali Provincial Government is for the Mandalika Motorbike GP event, NTB in 2021.

Not only that, he also strongly supports the creation of better connectivity between Bali-NTB-NTT in the future, especially to support tourism.

He added that the construction of supporting infrastructure for connectivity was also carried out at the Sanur Triangle Port in Denpasar, Sampalan in Nusa Penida, and Bias Munjul in Nusa Ceningan, Klungkung Regency, which are currently underway.

Meanwhile, NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah admitted that NTB had long wanted to learn from Bali how to develop tourism.

“Do we need to open up more, or how do we need to learn? This is not competition, but collaboration for the advancement of tourism,” he said.

Furthermore, Governor Zulkieflimansyah hopes for various inputs from the Province of Bali regarding the development of tourism villages and local crafts in NTB.
